Reven8e Week 2

Today's episode of Reven8e built on last week's premiere. On the show, it is now twelve weeks before the fateful party where Daniel is found dead. During this episode, Emily continues to carry out her plan. While she took down Lydia last week, this week she focuses on a man, Bill Harmon, who was a trusted family friend that testified against her father. Although Nolan didn't know it, Emily used her connection with him to carry out her plan against Mr. Harmon. I thought Emily's plan was very clever. She visits Mr. Harmon at his job and asks him to show her the computer system. When he's done showing her the system, Emily watches him roll dice in his hand in a way that shows her the password code. Later, we learn that Emily hacked into the system to bring the company's stocks down, which is bad for both Mr. Harmon and Conrad.

Throughout this episode, Victoria is very suspicious of Emily and wants to learn more about her. The first thing she does is ask a man by the name of Frank Stevens to look into Emily's past. It was mentioned that Frank knew about Conrad and Lydia's affair. Victoria later decides to invite Emily over for tea so she can learn more about Emily's past. She wasn't very successful in learning anything useful, though. Frank comes up with the information Victoria wanted, but that wasn't very helpful either. Victoria asks someone to follow Emily around by the end of the episode. Victoria obviously feels threatened by Emily.

Also, Emily and Daniel become much closer in this episode. After a horse racing competition, Daniel invites Emily to go out with him. I thought this date was very cute and understated. It also happened to be on her birthday. After Daniel walks Emily home, they're about to kiss when Nolan and Jack Porter show up. The door to the house is then opened showing a surprise birthday party for Emily. Clearly, Emily wasn't expecting this, and I'm not sure she approved. After the party when everyone has left, Daniel and Emily do finally kiss. I do wonder how this relationship is going to end up because I'm not sure about her intentions and neither is Victoria. I really do hope Emily genuinely has feelings for Daniel because I like them together.

This episode further develops Nolan's character. Throughout this episode, it is shown that he is lonely. Nolan hangs out with Jack several times in this episode although Jack shows reluctance to being around him. I kind of feel bad for him since no one wants to be his friend. Emily doesn't want him around either although she uses him when it's convenient for her. Nolan and Jack have a connection because Nolan bought Jack's boat (which just happens to be named Amanda). Jack was didn't want to sell the boat, but he needed the money. It is evident that Jack's family is poor unlike most of the other families. Nolan ends up making a deal with Jack that he'll give the boat back if Jack pretends to be or even genuinely becomes his friend.

Since their affair was revealed in last week's episode, Conrad and Lydia's relationship has changed. Lydia has now lost everything, including the beach house. Since she blames Conrad, she asks him for a check. Apparently, money solves everything. It was an interesting reveal and a very kind gesture that Nolan had bought the beach house in Emily's name. In my opinion, Emily doesn't really deserve him as a friend or ally or whatever they're supposed to be. Emily's father believed in Nolan. Why can't she? It says something that David trusted Nolan with his company.

A lot is learned about Jack, his son Declan, and his father (Declan's grandfather) in this episode. Obvious is the fact that they're poor, which I stated earlier. Apparently, Jack has a somewhat estranged relationship with his father, which is likely due to his father's drinking problem. Jack does convinces him that he's proud of him and not ashamed, but it must be hard to believe it. Declan also plays an important role in this episode. During this episode, Declan has very obvious girl troubles. The girl he likes, Charlotte, is apparently in an on-and-off relationship with a complete jerk named Adam. Early in the episode, Declan is unfairly ditched by Charlotte, Adam, and their friends. I thought Charlotte and Adam were an item, but I was surprised to learn later that Charlotte and Adam are technically on a break. As Adam is leaving Charlotte's home, Charlotte's phone rings. Well, he decides that this is a good moment to learn who's communicating with Charlotte. Possessive much? Adam reads a text message from Declan who wants to hang out with Charlotte. Adam sends a fake text message as Charlotte telling Declan that she'll be there. Instead, Adam and his cronies show up to beat up Declan. Before things get really ugly, Declan's grandfather shows up drunk and gets the other boys to leave. When the others have left, Declan uses this time to go on a rant about how big of a loser. After Declan leaves, his grandfather has a heart attack. As the episode is winding down, Jack finds his father lying on the floor. I hope he's not dead, but I expect the worst.

Like Nolan, Emily is shown to be lonely. In the closing scene, we see her sitting at a table having a cupcake with a candle lit. Before blowing out the candle, she says "happy birthday, Amanda". I really felt for her during this scene. It seems like even she is having doubts about whether she is doing the right thing or not. I just hope she learns to trust other people and to stop pushing them away because some of the characters, like Nolan and Jack, genuinely have her best interests at heart.

Tomorrow, I plan on writing about TVD and TSC, but I can't guarantee anything because I have a project due on Friday.

Glee Week 2 and Ringer Week 3

In my opinion, tonight's episode of Glee was amazing, definitely the best episode since season one. There were many fantastic scenes with some of the best acting we've seen on the show. I'll start at the beginning. This episode begins with Brittany deciding to help Kurt with his campaign for class president, which doesn't end up well. Kurt decides that the unicorn posters that Brittany made are too gay, so he makes his own. Brittany still posts the unicorn posters around the school, and Kurt confronts her. Brittany finds sympathy from Santana who tells her that she is the unicorn. By the time Kurt tells Brittany he is willing to be the unicorn, Brittany has decided to run for president herself with help from Santana. Kurt just never seems to catch a break (more on that later). I do actually feel bad for him. Sometimes, I'm guilty of thinking he gets too much screen time compared to some of the other characters that have been around since the beginning (Tina, Mercedes, Mike).

Also, the auditions for West Side Story take place in this episode. Since Will can't direct the musical, Coach Bieste, Emma and Artie (as student director) are given the opportunity to do so. I thought it was a cute moment when Tina encouraged Artie that he would do a good job even though he wasn't confident that he would. All three of the songs in this episode were used as audition pieces. First, Rachel auditioned for the role of Maria by singing "Somewhere". When Rachel is practicing for her audition, Shelby decides to help her chose the song she sings for her audition. Yup, Shelby makes her return in this episode. More on her later. Anyways, Rachel makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with Shelby. Shelby persists by telling Rachel that she shouldn't play it safe by singing "I Feel Pretty", but to sing "Somewhere" instead. Rachel and Shelby sing this song as a duet, ending with Rachel completing the song in front of Coach Bieste, Emma, and Artie. I thought this duet was amazing. I also want to say that I loved Rachel's hair in this scene. I've made it no secret that I hate Rachel with blunt bangs, but when she styles them as side bangs they don't bother me as much. I just think the blunt bangs makes her look older than a teenager. Moving on...

The second audition came from Kurt who wants the part of Tony. Kurt decided to use "I'm the Greatest Star" from Funny Girl. I was quite surprised he chose this as his audition piece because he really shouldn't have picked a song normally sung by a female to audition for the role of a straight male. This does end up hurting Kurt's chances. This episode clearly was not a good one for Kurt. Anyways, I thought that Kurt's number was very fun and the knife twirling and acrobatics were cool, but clearly the three co-directors weren't buying what he was selling. As Coach Bieste, Emma, and Artie discuss the auditions so far, Kurt spies on them. When he realizes that his chances aren't looking good, he finds Rachel so he can re-audition. Kurt and Rachel decide to perform the bedroom scene from Romeo and Juliet. I thought this was hilarious because of the obvious over-acting, and apparently the directors thought it was, too, because they began laughing when Kurt and Rachel couldn't go through with the kiss. Kurt gets very upset after this and storms out.

The third and final audition was at the very end of the episode. This audition came from Blaine, who chose "Something's Coming". Earlier in the episode, Blaine had confided in Kurt at dance practice that he didn't think he would get the lead role since he was a junior, so he wasn't going to audition for Tony. Yup, Blaine's apparently younger than Kurt, which is kinda weird to their individual maturity levels, but whatever. When Blaine apparently blows away the rest of the auditions for Tony, he is asked to read for Tony's part while Kurt is watching from the balcony. I though something was off about Blaine's dancing during the song, but it could just be me. The episode ends here as a cliff-hanger. Now, I will back track.

After Kurt's storm out, he decides to talk about his situation with his father Burt, who works at a car garage. The beginning of this scene starts out with a conversation between Rachel and Finn, who works for Burt. Finn admits to Rachel that he doesn't want to audition for Tony because he is too busy and doesn't know if show business is for him. Rachel goes on to tell him that he is talented, but he still goes on to decline the Tony audition. This somehow leads to a sappy line where Finn tells Rachel that she's "the best girlfriend ever". Bleh. You never thought that was the case the first two seasons, Finn. They then kiss, which Burt interrupts...thank God. Kurt also makes his entrance into the scene and tells Burt that he's going to have to be able to act as a straight male to make it. Burt tries to make him feel better by bringing up the idea that Kurt may have to make his own rules. I suppose something Burt said got through to Kurt because he changes his mind about the campaign posters.

Shelby makes her comeback in this episode when she is asked to be a teacher at McKinley High, which Sugar apparently had something to do with. She decides to use this opportunity to allow Puck and Quinn to be part of their daughter Beth's life. Throughout this episode, we are shown that Quinn is in a very dark place, so it should be awhile until Quinn actually is able to see Beth. I'm not sure it actually will be though. During the first conversation between Quinn and Shelby, Quinn makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with Beth. This gradually changes throughout the episode. For her video campaigning against the arts, Sue has Quinn go to Will to tell him that she's never coming back to glee clue blaming it for her downfall. This completely backfires on both Quinn and Sue because: 1. the camera was not working at the time and 2. Will finally calls Quinn out on her immaturity saying that she needs to grow up. I have to agree with Will on this one, unlike the Santana thing in the last episode. After this scene, Puck visits Shelby and Beth. I thought this was one of the best scenes in the episode and produced some great acting from Mark Salling. Originally, Shelby was skeptic about Puck's readiness to see Beth again, but he convinced her that he had cleaned up his act. It was very cute that Puck had drawn a picture for Beth. The next day, Puck confronts Quinn in the bathroom because he wants her to clean up her act so they can both be a part of Beth's life. Again, Quinn holds her ground on the matter. During the second conversation between Quinn and Shelby, this all changes when Shelby finally gets through to Quinn by telling her that she needs to stop punishing herself. Quinn asks to see a picture of Beth and starts crying. Quinn decides to rejoin New Directions and shows up at the next dance practice like her old self (girly dress and blond hair). Quinn goes on to tell Puck she's only cleaning up her act so she can gain back custody of Beth. I really want to know how this ends up because you normally can't gain back complete custody of a child you put up for adoption. It's not like this situation is an open adoption case either.

Oh wow! I wrote a lot on Glee this week. I'm actually really looking forward to the rest of Glee this season. They seemed to have actually figured out what went wrong last season (lack of continuity, out of character moments, etc).

Somewhere: ***** This song was absolutely beautiful and very emotional. Lea and Idina are amazing at singing duets together. I loved it.
I'm the Greatest Star: *** Chris sounds good in this song. I'm just not sure it's the right song for him. It definitely wasn't horrible.
Something's Coming: **** I thought this song was very good. I'm not sure about the execution of the song on the show, but I really like the recording of it.



After writing such a long commentary on Glee, I'm going to try to keep it short with Ringer. In this episode, Bridget tries to find out who sent the hitman to (unsuccessfully) kill Siobhan. To help her with this task, she has the hitman's cell phone. When on the phone with Malcolm, she comes across a photo of Siobhan and Andrew, the same one that the hitman had. She comes to the conclusion that Andrew is quite possibly behind the murder attempt. After developing suspisions about Andrew, Bridget goes to an electronics store to ask about the cell phone. Later, she goes to an alley where she is seemingly trapped. This scene was very suspenseful, but Gemma ends up opening the door and inviting "Siobhan" into a dress shop where Andrew had set up an appointment so she could find a dress to wear to the ballet Swan Lake that evening. "Siobhan" questions Gemma about Andrew's intentions, but Gemma tells her that Andrew is a good man. As "Siobhan" is leaving the shop, she receives a call from a man who had contact hitman. He told her to put the phone down on a bench, but she decides to pick up the phone again. I was genuinely scared that something bad was going to happen to Bridget during this scene even though it was broad daylight. When Bridget returned home, she called the phone company to trace the call but was told it was a blocked number. Bridget then calls Malcolm, who is attacked. It definitely wasn't looking good for him throughout the rest this episode. The men who attacked him were involved in the murder that Bridget was a witness of, so they might kill him after they figure out where Bridget is. Later, Bridget goes to her attorney to talk about Andrew and a deed for a property. "Siobhan" subtlely asks questions to learn the reasoning why Siobhan wanted a divorce. Apparently, Siobhan was afraid of Andrew. The attorney also tells her that Andrew may have been trying to cheat her on the deed. This makes Bridget even more suspicious of Andrew. When Andrew finds out her talk with the attorney, he gets angry with her telling her that the place the deed is on is worthless and to go to the ballet with Gemma. This was a heart-wrenching scene. I really felt for Bridget. When Bridget visited the place afterwards, she realized that Andrew may have been right about it. As she's in the building, she realizes someone else might be there. This person turns out to be the mysterious man that called her ealier. She pulls out her gun and runs out of the house. She then quickly gets a ride from a taxi and calls Victor to meet up with him. When they meet up, "Siobhan" asks him about the search for her sister. She goes on to ask if there are any leads on Bridget. Victor goes on to admit he knows that "Siobhan" withdrew money and missed a few appointments. He also knows that Siobhan slept with Henry wondering if Andrew knows. If Victor doesn't figure out Bridget has been posing as Siobhan in the next episode, I'll be very surprised. He knows a lot more than I thought he knew, especially about Siobhan's affair. Afterwards, Bridget calls back the man to tell him she's willing to give the cell phone to Victor. I think it's quite possible that she will end up giving it to him. Later, we see "Siobhan" at Gemma's place telling Gemma she can't go to Swan Lake. When "Siobhan" asks about Henry, Gemma says he's not coming either. When she gets back home, "Siobhan" tells Andrew everything. Well, at least as much as she could. She admits times were different when she started to think about getting a divorce, but is now calling it off. Apparently in the past, Siobhan had thought some bad things about Andrew based on fear. Bridget realizes that she has to stop listening to other people and that Siobhan was wrong about Andrew, so she asks for his forgiveness. I absolutely loved this scene and thought it was the best in the episode. It was very sweet of "Siobhan" to tell him that the dress appointment was the nicest thing he'd ever done for her. It was even sweeter that he told her she was beautiful...awwww. It's going to suck when Andrew finds out "Siobhan" is really Bridget, but I don't want to ruin the moment.

This episode spends more time following the real Siobhan then the last one. While at a bar, she meets a man trying to order a drink who cannot speak French. She introduces herself, but lies about her name. She gives the man her room number, but she gets sick when they're making out and tells him to leave promptly before throwing up. Clearly, this is a sign of morning sickness because we've known Siobhan was pregnant since the first episode. Siobhan ends up taking a pregnancy test, which is positive. She calls Henry while looking at the test, but doesn't say anything. I think she's quite shocked and doesn't know what to tell him. Just not a very good situation for Siobhan. Clearly, she had no idea she was pregnant when she left her life.

Okay, so I wasn't able to keep it short. It's just a lot happened on both shows tonight, and sometimes I feel like I need to write a complete summary of the episodes to write a good commentary. Coming up tomorrow: Reven8e

Nikita and Supernatural Season Premieres

Sorry about the delayed entry. I was exhausted yesterday evening. Anyways...Nikita and Michael have teamed up to retrieve a black box in the season premiere of Nikita. Division and Alex also want this black box. I don't know why Alex is still working for Division because they are just using her. Well actually, I do know why. Amanda offered to help Alex find the man that killed her father. You would think she would have learned her lesson after the first season, but I guess not. Alex needs to get out while she still can, just like Nikita said. I just don't think Nikita should have hurt her so severely to make her point. Shooting her was taking things too far. It's just too risky because I'm sure Nikita still genuinely cares about Alex. Nikita has been like Alex's mother figure since the first season because both of her parents are dead. There was lots of action in this episode as Nikita and Michael cleared the name of of man who was framed when investigating the terrorist attack on Division, which was actually an inside job. Nikita and Michael were rescued by an unlikely ally in Seymour Birkhoff when they were knocked out by gas released by UAVs during an attack by a Division team. By the episode's end Nikita and Michael reunite the character Justin with the man framed by division. This episode introduced the character of Sean Pierce who is supposed to keep an eye on Alex.

Supernatural was a wild ride last night. In the opening scene, Castiel declared himself God to Dean, Sam, and Bobby and later goes on to smite those who displease him. This seemed very out-of-character for Castiel, and it technically was. In the closing scene, it is revealed that Castiel's vessel has been taken over by the Leviathans, which are the first beasts God created. This is very very bad for Dean, Sam, and Bobby. It was heart-breaking to see the internal battle wage inside Castiel and for him to end up losing. I really thought everything was going to be alright when Castiel revived after Bobby said the ritual to send the things Castiel absorbed back to Purgatory and seeming killed Castiel. Also, Sam experiences hallucinations and nightmares throughout this episode. He even sees Lucifer again, who tells him that he is still in hell and that what Sam thinks is real is the hallucination. This cannot possibly be good since these hallucinations are affecting Sam's relationship with Dean and Bobby. I was happy to see the return of Crowley and Death in this episode. They were very helpful in trying to save Castiel even though it ended up being for nothing. I have serious doubts we'll ever see the real Castiel ever again.

I may write an entry on Monday, but it's more likely I'll wait until Tuesday to write again.

TVD and TSC Week 2

I'm going to jump right in today and try to keep it short as possible. Oh my goodness, I think we finally made real progress on the Delena front this week on TVD! Elena admitted that the reason she decided to leave the mountains (and the hunt to find a werewolf pack) is that she cares about Damon and doesn't want to see him get hurt again. And Damon is going to help Elena get Stefan back, granted he wants her to remember how she feels about him during Stefan's absence because she might not want Stefan back once they do. I was surprised to see that Klaus's hybrid idea didn't work at the end of the episode, but I might have missed something. I know Stefan killed the first one Klaus made when saving Damon. Yeah apparently, Stefan isn't so far gone that he won't save his brother from harm. That's a good sign. I really don't want Elena to choose either brother by default. That would be unsatisfactory. I genuinely want Elena to choose Damon over Stefan. I almost felt bad for Klaus at the end of the episode. It seems like he doesn't want to be alone, which led to his saving Stefan from a hybrid bite. Anyways, this episode saw the return of Anna who came to warn Jeremy and Matt to not bring Vicky back. I'm really interested to see where this storyline goes. Tyler's mother finally saw him turn into a werewolf, which convinced her that torturing Caroline for being a vampire might not be such a good idea. She was just looking out for him, and I can't hold that against her. On the other hand, I can't believe that Caroline's own father is willing to hurt her just because she's not human anymore. Ugh. Lastly, Elena was able to convince Alaric to come back. Elena and Jeremy really need a father figure in their lives since all their blood relatives are dead. It's really quite sad. I don't know how I would deal if I was in the same position. Now on to TSC.

It has become much more difficult for the teenagers to control their magic since the arrival of Cassie. Magic is apparently magnified by emotions more easily. Clearly, Cassie and Adam can't be around each other without feeling entirely drawn to each other. I don't know if this is a good or a bad sign. I don't want them to be together just because of fate. Well, he's still with Diana and in love with her at this point. I don't know how quickly this will change. Apparently, Melissa has feelings for Nick. I mean they are sleeping with each other, but I don't think they're exclusive. Melissa certainly looked jealous when watching him dance with Faye. Which brings me to what happened later in this scene. Faye almost killed Sally when she interrupted an argument between Cassie and Faye. Amazingly, Dawn was able to save Sally using this mysterious white crystal. All of these crystals were supposed to be destroyed according to Faye's grandfather (I think he's her grandfather), but nope there was one left. I thought Dawn was going to turn out to not be so bad, but she killed the old man when he asked for the crystal, which Dawn had originally gotten from Charles. She doesn't want to kill innocent children but she doesn't seem opposed to murdering adults if they're going to interfere with her plans. Because she didn't want to see anyone else get hurt, Cassie decided to bind the circle with the other five teenagers. From the preview for next week, I'm not sure that there aren't going to be consequences. I'm glad that Diana finally admitted that she doesn't know what she's doing. This magic stuff seems to be some powerful stuff especially since you can make something happen by just commanding it to happen. This version of magic is quite different then your usual wands and potions. On a final note, I think it's significant that Cassie's father apparently also died by fire. I'm not sure if I caught this correctly, but that's what it sounded like, early in the episode, when Adam was talking about their parents' circle and his knowledge of what happened that led to magic being forbidden. Hmm....I'm very intrigued by this and definitely want to learn more.

Revenge Series Premiere

Tonight, I watched the series premiere of Revenge. Although I developed a small interest in Revenge when I saw Emily VanCamp (from Everwood) and Joshua Bowman (from Make It or Break It) in the tv spot, my mom is the one who convinced that I should check it out. I thought the episode was a bit boring at times since I didn't know what exactly it was building up to, but the end was really amazing. Emily Thorne, aka Amanda Clarke, decides to move back to her childhood home Southampton and initiate a plan of revenge against those who wronged her father David Clarke. I thought the opening of the show was very compelling. At a party, the body of Daniel, the son of Conrad Grayson, washes up on shore. When Charlotte, Conrad Grayson's daughter, and Declan Porter (played by Gossip Girl's Connor Paolo) find the body, havoc breaks loose. We have no idea who killed Daniel or why. The episode then goes back a few months to when Emily moved into town. This is where the pace of the episode slows down. Anyways, I loved the use of flashbacks to show what happened to Emily and her father when she was a child. It was very effective. Emily's father was arrested for being a murderer even though he was innocent. At the end of the episode, we learned that Emily's father was betrayed by the woman he loved, Victoria Grayson. I was shocked to learn this because there was nothing to suggest that David and Victoria had a relationship in the past. In present time, her husband Conrad was shown to be having an affair with a woman named Lydia, so it looks like Victoria made a poor choice in finding a husband. At the end of the episode, it wasn't surprising to learn that Emily was the one who poisoned Conrad, who seemingly had a heart attack when he was with Lydia.

Other interactions that I noted in this episode: I think Emily and Daniel will have a fling before she decides to murder him in revenge since he is the son of Victoria and Conrad. I thought the interaction between Emily and Nolan Ross was very compelling. When watching a video and zooming in, he figures out that Emily is Amanda Clarke and decides to confront her because he's the only one who knows the truth about her father and his innocence. Thankfully, Nolan is willing to keep Emily's secret and even help her. Since Emily doesn't particularly want his help, I'm thinking that Emily and Nolan will be reluctant allies throughout the show. Emily and Nolan do have a past as he gave a box to Emily from her father at some point after she turned 18. He told her that her father wanted to bring justice to the truly guilty. I can't forget about the interactions between Emily and her father in the flashbacks, since they clearly had a lovely father-daughter relationship. The double infinity thing that her father told her about was really cool because she decided to get it tatooed on her wrist. I'd like to think that it symbolizes her love and dedication to her father.

Glee Week 1 and Ringer Week 2

Today, I watched the season premiere of Glee and the second episode of Ringer. I know I've told people that I was done with Glee in the spring because the finale was so cringeworthy, but I admit to being weak. After I read spoilers about the third season of Glee, I just couldn't resist checking it out. Anyways, on with the show!

After seeing the premiere of Glee, I felt relief that Finchel was in the background. If you know me, you know I absolutely can't stand them together and feel they are completely wrong for each other. Finn once again gave me a reason to hate him when he spoke against Blaine joining glee club. Oh yeah, that's right! Blaine has now transferred to McKinley High to be with Kurt! I can honestly say I'm happy for them. I also really liked the Rachel-Kurt interaction in this episode. It was really sweet that they comforted each other when they felt completely humilated after seeing a group of musical theater potentials perform a mash-up of Anything Goes and Anything You Can Do. This brings me to the Lindsay Pearce, one of the runner-ups from the reality series The Glee Project. I thought her character Harmony sounded absolutely amazing and can't wait to see her again. She only has a 2-episode arc, but it's certainly better than nothing.

Also in this episode, Sue launches a campaign to get rid of the arts in public schools during Sue's Corner. This is certainly bad for New Directions. I just love to hate this woman. Sue teams up with Santana and Becky, whom she names as co-captains of the Cheerios. Later in the episode, Will and Emma decide to lauch an offensive counter attack and glitter-bomb Sue during Cheerios tryouts. I thought this scene was hilarious.

On a different note, Quinn is in a really bad place right now. Over the summer, she died her hair pink, took up the habit of smoking, and decided to leave ND. Santana, Brittany, and Rachel all tried to get her to rejoin ND, but were not successful. By going through a punk phase, Quinn is rebelling against what people want her to be. I do miss the old Quinn and hope she'll be back with ND soon. I really felt for her at the end of the episode when she spied on ND's performance of "You Can't Stop The Beat". She just looked so sad. During Blaine's performance of "It's Not Unusual" earlier in the episode, she is the one who ignites the purple piano by dropping her cigarette near it. Will decides to blame Santana for this incident since she and the other cheerleaders poured gasoline on the piano. I do think Will was taking things a bit too far by banning Santana from ND. Although Will doesn't know it, it wasn't completely Santana's fault. Others have done far worse and haven't been kicked out of glee club. I guess Will has finally grown a backbone.

Oh and how about that food fight? After ND performs "We Got The Beat" at lunch time, Becky triggers a food fight by throwing something green at Rachel. I don't remember what it actually was, but I thought this was another one of the funnier scenes tonight. Also in this episode was the introduction of Sugar (played by Vanessa Lengies from Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Stick It), who cannot sing or dance. She tries out for ND by singing "Hey Big Spender", but is rejected by Will. I kinda feel bad for her because I always thought anyone could join ND. Another example of Will finally using his backbone. Before the last group performance of the episode, we learn that McKinley High is going to perform the musical West Side Story (yay!) and Kurt is running for class president. I also want to say how much I loved ND's outfits for the performance of "You Can't Stop the Beat". The purple looked awesome! Overall, I thought this episode was a good start to the third season of Glee. Oh and for the record, I still don't like the bangs on Rachel. Lea Michele can make them work, but I think they are un-Rachel-like and make Lea look too old to play a high schooler because of her facial structure.

On a final note, I've decided to rate the five songs in this episode:
We Got The Beat: **** I really liked this song, but thought it sounded a bit Kids Bop-ish. I think it's a very fun song, and it was nice that Naya and Heather got solos in this song in addition to Lea.
Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do: ***** I loved it! Lindsay Pearce has an amazing voice, and I'm so glad she was picked to have a two-episode arc after competing on TGP.
Ding Dong the Witch is Dead: ** This song felt very out of place in the episode. I don't particularly like the arrangement of the song and barely recognized it when I first heard it.
It's Not Unusual: **** Darren Criss sounds great in this song! Since Blaine is now at McKinley High, I hope that Finn isn't the male lead for every group song ND sings this season like in the previous two seasons.
You Can't Stop the Beat: ***** I love love love that Glee picked this song from Hairspray! It is one of my favorite songs from that musical and was great to end the episode with.



I can't forget that I also watched Ringer tonight. Throughout the episode, Bridget was trying to keep it a secret that she shot the man with a gun that could be traced back to her even though she is living Siobhan's life. Bridget decided to tell her therapist Malcolm the truth, and together they planned to have Bridget go into hiding....but by the end of the episode, Bridget decided to keep on living Siobhan's life because Juliet need her. From the flashback scenes (9 years ago), we learn that Siobhan had always thought Bridget as a selfish person and staying is Bridget's way of proving Siobhan wrong. I thought the scene in the bathroom between Bridget and Juliet was very touching. In the first of two closing scene, Siobhan finds out that her banking account has been closed. Afterwards, she calls someone to tell him that Bridget is ruining everything and that something needs to be done. I really want to know who this person is that Siobhan has been calling and why Siobhan wants to kill Bridget so badly. At this point, it's pretty obvious that she knew Bridget would take her place. In the second closing scene, I was shocked that the body was missing when Bridget opened the suitcase.

Other things to note in the episode: I was so nervous that someone was going to find out about the body at the cocktail party since the suitcase that Bridget hid the body in was leaking blood and the ringing of the cellphone. Victor clearly knows something is up, which is why he keeps showing up to "Siobhan" to talk about Bridget. Also, it's going to be really sad if and when Gemma finds out about Henry's infidelity since she does genuinely love him. I'm glad Bridget has completely cut off things with him. From the parking garage scene with Malcolm, I think that someone is also after him. I was scared that he was going to be killed off. I can't believe the nerve of that woman who works with Andrew. She thinks that "Siobhan" is using her pregnancy to save her marriage. While that may have been the case, it isn't now since Bridget isn't even pregnant. I really want things to work out between "Siobhan" and Andrew, but I don't know how that will be possible if he finds out Siobhan is really Bridget.

A Date with Vampires and Witches

So I was reading my first two posts, and realized it was totally not my intention for this to be a blog of summaries. I mean you can find those anywhere, including IMDB. Anyways, earlier I watched the season three premiere of The Vampire Diaries and the series premiere of The Secret Circle, both shows based off of books written by L.J. Smith. If I had to pick my favorite show last year, TVD would have to be it. I definitely missed seeing Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore on a weekly basis. As for TSC, I was interested in watching this show because Britt Robertson is one of my favorite newcomers. I was very disappointed when Life Unexpected was cancelled earlier this year. Plus, Thomas Dekker is also on TSC. I've known about him since I decided to watch Heroes when he played Claire Bennet's best friend, Zach, during the first season. Some of his other credentials are Taylor Ambrose in My Sister's Keeper and John Conner in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Now, on to the shows starting with TVD.

Since TVD is currently my favorite television show, I had very high expectations. While I thought the episode was a good start to the third season, I did have a few questions. How much time has passed since the start of the first season? Wasn't Elena a 17-year old high school junior when the show started? Why is she only turning 18 now? I hate when shows lose track of time, but it is just a technicality.

It was shocking to see how evil Stefan was at the beginning of the episode although it was clear by the end of the episode that he is struggling with trying not to lose himself. Klaus is absolutely not up to any good making a vampire-werewolf hybrid army. As for the Damon-Elena dynamic, some things never change. Damon is still keeping things from Elena. During her birthday party when she decided to take a break in an empty room, she finds that Damon has a whole map tracking the locations of Klaus and Stefan. Elena thought they were working together, but once again Damon was doing his own thing. I'm a big shipper of Elena and Damon, but it's always one step forward, two steps backwards with them. Plus, Elena still loves Stefan. I don't know how you can promote your show as a love triangle when Elena clearly isn't as divided between the two brothers as she could be. On the other hand, I did think there was some major sexual tension between Elena and Damon before her party when Damon gives back her necklace. I haven't lost all hope for Delena.

I really liked the dynamic between Caroline and Tyler. I was nervous that nothing would happen between them during this episode, but I was glad when they did hook-up by the end. I was very shocked by what happened as the episode's cliff-hanger. I can't believe Tyler's mother attacked Caroline and have no idea why she would. I hope Caroline will be okay. Also, Matt has been avoiding Caroline and has started to do drugs. Last but not least, Jeremy is back to being a stoner. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because he is seeing dead people, meaning Vicky and Anna. All in all, I'm excited to see what this season of TVD has in store.

I had no idea what to expect when I started watching TSC other than witches and a love triangle, but I thought that the series premiere was very compelling. I have so many questions: What exactly are Diana's father Charles Meade and Faye's mother Dawn Chamberlain up to? Why did Cassie's mother Amelia Blake choose Cassie's father instead of Ethan Conant, Adam's father? What exactly happened to Cassie's father? What is this ritual that Diana and the others keep bringing up? Will Cassie join the circle with the other five teenagers? Anyways, enough with the questions.

Charles is clearly up to some very evil magic. At the beginning of the episode, he starts the fire that kills Amelia just because he needs Cassie to return to Amelia's childhood home where all the others live and realize her magic abilities. And it's obvious that he's trying to manipulate his daughter into doing some sort of ritual that requires all six teenage witches. I just hope Diana finds out about her father before it's too late. The man is clearly very very twisted. At one point in the episode, I seriously thought he was going to murder Ethan by drowning him since Ethan had apparently said too much, but it turned out to just be a warning.

Looking at the love triangle, I prefer the dynamic between Adam and Cassie and suspect that Diana is going to be the one who ends up with a broken heart. I think the magic that Adam and Cassie produced together in the woods means something. I'm just not sure what it is. Maybe, it has something to do with why Amelia picked Cassie's father and not Ethan. I have no idea. I'm just speculating.

As for the other teenagers, Faye definitely has a mean streak. She shouldn't have put Cassie in danger by starting her car on fire just because she wanted to push Cassie into doing magic. Clearly, Cassie had no idea about her magical heritage. Thankfully, Adam saved Cassie. Faye should be grateful that Cassie ended the dangerous storm that she started later in the episode. She almost hurt Diana. We don't really know much about Melissa or Nick yet, but I'm sure they'll be more developed as the season goes on.

I'm really glad that Cassie didn't join the circle by the episode's end. I'm not sure the others really know what they're doing. Cassie's grandmother Jane did warn Dawn that her daughter and the other teens shouldn't be using magic that they don't completely understand. It's suspicious that all the teens have lost a parent as Adam told Cassie when he apologizes for what happened in the woods. Amelia had every reason to leave Chance Harbor to protect Cassie although it's now left her unprepared. It seems like the adults are keeping a lot of secrets from their children.

Anyways, I really enjoyed tonight's shows on the CW and can't wait until next week!

Ringer Series Premiere

Earlier tonight, I watched the series premiere of Ringer on the CW. I thought the premiere was very good and will continue to watch the show in the future. I did take notes during the episode, but my summary may not be a completely accurate representation of the episode as this is the first time I've ever done this. Some of the names I have gotten from reviews and IMDB.

The episode started out with one of Sarah Michelle Gellar's characters running from and finding herself trapped by a mysterious man in black. We do not know which one she is yet, only that she is not the one that the man wants. Cue short intro. In the next scene, days earlier, Gellar's character Bridget Cafferty is at a meeting of recovering alcoholics. Bridget mentions that she is wanted dead and later in the episode I learned that this is because she is the sole witness in a murder trial. After the meeting, Bridget talks to a man, played by Nestor Carbonell (the never-aging Richard Alpert from Lost), who is her FBI agent.

Bridget flees to New York and reunites with her rich twin sister Siobhan Martin. For years, Bridget and Siobhan had been estranged. Siobhan even mentions that her husband, Andrew, has doesn't know that she has a twin sister. Having seemingly mended their relationship, the two sisters go on motor boat ride. After waking up from being drugged, Bridget finds that Siobhan has disappeared. All evidence points that her sister is dead. She finds Siobhan's wedding ring in a pill bottle and decides to take her sister's place because it is an opportunity to escape her own life.

Later in the episode, Bridget, now posing as Siobhan, goes to the opera with Andrew. While she is at the opera, Bridget notices that she is being watched. After the opera, Bridget is walking around in the building when she is taken aside and finds herself making-out with her best friend Gemma's husband Henry, who Siobhan was apparently having an affair with. I don't remember the exact details of their conversation. After the opera, Andrew notices that "Siobhan" has been different since she returned. "Siobhan" says that she doesn't want to play games, and Andrew remarks that he doesn't believe that she has really changed.

The next day we see Bridget at another AA meeting with her sponser Malcolm. She explains her situation vaguely and is told to take responsibility for her actions. When she returns home, she finds her step-daughter Juliet hooking up with an unnamed man. Bridget's FBI agent, whose name we learn is Victor Machado, comes looking for Bridget who has seemingly disappeared. Victor tells "Siobhan" that Bridget was arrested for prostitution and was the only witness of a murder. "Siobhan" makes it clear that she doesn't know where her sister is. After Victor leaves, "Siobhan" receives a call telling her that she is pregnant. OMG! This is very bad for Bridget because she is clearly not pregnant. Making things worse, Henry is there when "Siobhan" receives this phone call. Henry thinks that the baby is his since they had been having sex on a regular basis, and it very well could be since Siobhan and Andrew barely speak to one another.

Afterwards, "Siobhan" learns from Andrew that Juliet has been kicked out of boarding school for an undisclosed reason. They don't want to have Juliet around when the baby is born, but Juliet has no where else to go. Bridget goes looking for her best friend Gemma and finds herself being chased by an attacker. Bridget manages to shoot him and finds a picture of Siobhan in his pocket. Was she set up? In the closing scene, we see that Siobhan is still alive in Paris as she receives a mysterious phone telling her that "we have a problem".

There was a lot going on this episode that it was almost hard to keep up. Bridget clearly wasn't expecting the complications in Siobhan's life. She isn't any safer than she would be otherwise. I wonder what she's going to do now that she has killed a man and how she's going to deal with her not-so-little problem of not being pregnant. And did Siobhan know that Bridget was going to take her place when she decided to fake her own death? What about the affair between Siobhan and Henry? Will either Andrew or Gemma find out? I love the mystery of Ringer and can't wait until next week's episode.

Hey everyone!!! This is my new blog that I decided to create because I have a lot of interests that I want share with everyone. I love sports, reading, watching television and movies, listening to music, and more! After I see a new episode of a television show or read a new book, I'll come here to talk about it. The television shows I plan on watching are Ringer, The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, Supernatural, Nikita, and Once Upon a Time. I may watch more, but it depends on how much time I have.

Later tonight, I'll discuss the series premiere of Ringer. It's a new show that I'm extremely excited to watch because Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of my favorite actresses after watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's definitely great to see her return to the silver screen after so many years.
